Façade & Sign Improvement Program
Revitalizing historic storefronts
Our Façade & Sign Improvement Grant helps downtown business and building owners make exterior improvements – from new signage and awnings to fresh paint and lighting – that honor Oyster Bay’s historic design guidelines. By providing small matching grants, OBMSA incentivizes quality, lasting improvements over quick fixes, keeping our Main Street authentic and appealing.
How It Works:
The Oyster Bay Main Street Association offers small grants to help business and property owners enhance their storefronts while staying true to our historic downtown design standards. The goal is to encourage high-quality, durable design over flashy or temporary fixes.
Eligible Project Categories:
-
Sign Improvement: Up to $2,000 for storefront signs, blade signs, window lettering, and sign lighting. Covers up to 75% of total project cost.
-
Repair/Replacement of Existing Elements: Up to $1,000 for damaged signs, awnings, and architectural features. Covers up to 75%.
-
Façade & Sign Combo: Up to $4,000 for cohesive improvements to both signage and façade elements. Covers up to 75%.
-
Façade Improvement: Up to $2,000 for exterior upgrades like doors, windows, trim, cornices, awnings, and façade lighting. Covers up to 75%.
Additional funding may be available in special cases at the grant committee’s discretion.
Eligibility:
