About Us > Facade & Sign Improvement Program
Having historic buildings with an attractive look and appearance is key to our success attracting new businesses and customers to downtown Oyster Bay. Recognizing that fact, we have established a Facade & Sign Improvement Program. Business and building owners with an interest are encouraged to participate in this program. The steps for the program follow:

Review the OBMSA Design Guidelines to understand the expectations for improvements to buildings downtown.
- View our Facade Improvement Success Stories for examples of successful projects in Oyster Bay.
- Visit the Oyster Bay Main Street Storefront Office at 21 West Main St with your initial design ideas. Drawings are not necessary though may be helpful.
- If your project qualifies you will then be given a Facade & Sign Improvement Program Application asking for additional information.
- Upon receiving your application, this will be reviewed by our Design Committee, and a response provided in 2-4 weeks.
Sign Improvement Projects
For projects involving only sign improvement, or sign improvement as part of a larger project, it is recommended to look at the Town of Oyster Bay Zoning Code for "Sign Regulations."
Financial Incentives
There may be financial incentives available for projects approved through the Facade & Sign Improvement Program. It is recommended to get your application in as soon as possible to qualify for funding.
